This shady turn in the fan responses highlights the difficulties public figures encounter when straying from conventional expectations. The first showed his fiancée, Dutch speed skater Jutta Leerdam, expressing her disapproval of the deepfakes.
“It’s not funny,” Leerdam says in the clip.
And in an October 2 X post, journalist Taylor Lorenz claimed that a “stalker” had used Sora 2 to create AI deepfakes of her.
Paul, who prides himself on being a straight man, caused a stir when he declared his intention to kiss his opponents during face-offs. Using social media, some fans have resorted to making fun of Paul. OpenAI’s Sora 2 safety document claims the company has “guardrails” in place to ensure that users’ audio and image likeness are used with their consent via the platform’s “cameos.”
“Only you decide who can use your cameo, and you can revoke access at any time.
Instead, creators used text-to-video generator Sora to generate completely fake footage of the athlete coming out as gay.
“I have an announcement in 3-2-1 … I’m gay. The text-to-video AI model was launched by OpenAI for ChatGPT Plus and ChatGPT Pro subscribers in December 2024 to create short videos based on users’ text prompts.
The boxer’s unusual desire to kiss his opponents during face-offs has regrettably made him the target of disparaging comments. With the launch of a Sora app in October, users can simply enter a brief prompt and the AI model can generate an extremely realistic visual representation.
Sora has been widely condemned throughout the entertainment industry for intellectual property violations, prompting OpenAI CEO Sam Altman to announce in October 2025 that future versions of the model will “give rightsholders more granular control over generation of characters.” However, Motion Picture Association chairman Charles Rivkin complained to Deadline in October 2025 that Sora already created countless “videos that infringe our members’ films, shows, and characters [and] have proliferated on OpenAI’s service and across social media.”

Logan and Jake Paul know a thing or two about being a controversial pair of brothers. However, when it came time for the promo shoot for their new Max reality series Paul American, which premiered Thursday, March 27, the social media stars-turned-combat sports phenoms wondered if they were drawing too close comparisons to another set […]
“While OpenAI clarified it will ‘soon’ offer rightsholders more control over character generation, they must acknowledge it remains their responsibility — not rightsholders’ — to prevent infringement on the Sora 2 service,” Rivkin insisted.
People are saying that after this statement KSI will accept to fight Jake, but let’s see what will happen and what may happen in the future.
Boxer and influencer Jake Paul has responded to a series of viral AI deepfake videos falsely depicting him coming out as gay.
Deepfakes are videos, picture or audio clips that have been made using artificial intelligence to look real, often for nefarious purposes.
One image showed Paul sitting in front of a Pride flag while trying to apply fake eyelashes. Another depicted him wearing multi-coloured eyeshadow and coming out as gay, showing Pride-themed boxing gloves to viewers.
In the other, he deadpans that “the AI stuff” is affecting his relationships with businesses and that he intends to sue people spreading video “of me doing s**t that I would literally never, ever do” — all while applying make-up.
While he appears to be taking the videos in stride, Paul, who endorsed Donald Trump’s candidacy during the 2024 presidential election, has not addressed what Futurism described as the “problematic undercurrents of homophobia” in the AI-generated clips.
It’s unclear whether Paul himself may have made it possible for users to create the posts.
This openness not only gives his public persona an unpredictable touch but also begs the issue of whether his remarks are genuine. Mongeau and Paul split in 2020.
Paul and Leerdam confirmed in March 2025 that they were engaged after initially meeting via Instagram two years earlier.
“We’re engaged💍🕊️🤍we can’t wait to spend forever together,” they announced via a joint Instagram post.
“You don’t like it?” Paul asked Leerdam in another TikTok video, with the Olympic speed skater admitting: “I don’t like it, it’s not funny!

Paul is far from the first celebrity to be targeted with deepfake videos. I hope you’ll support me,” an extremely realistic digital rendering of Paul announced in one deepfake that received more than 1.5 million “likes” via TikTok.
In another clip, the fake Paul wore glittery makeup and a Pride flag draped over his shoulders as he delivered an impassioned defense of the LGBTQ+ community.

Videos that include your cameo—including drafts created by other users—are always visible to you. Paul is well-known for his distinct style of play and love of spectacle, so it’s no surprise that fans find his desire for a strange face-off intriguing and entertaining. Lorenz said the platform allowed her to block the unapproved content using her likeness, but as Futurism notes, it’s unclear whether Lorenz opted in to the Sora social platform in the first place.

Jake Paul Responds to the Deepfake Controversy
The boxer seemingly didn’t take the viral deepfake trend too seriously as he shared several of the phony clips via his official TikTok in October 2025.
Paul spliced together one deepfake with real footage of him saying, “This AI is getting out of hand.
People believe it!”
She also replied directly to one of the deepfakes, writing simply: “HELP.”
Paul has never come out as gay. For his part, Paul made light of the viral trend by sharing several of the fake videos via his official TikTok in order to promote his energy drink brand Celsius.
“AI is getting out of hand,” he complained in one clapback.
