A Lack of Acceptance

Over the past two years I have had hundreds, if not thousands, of “Grow The Game” conversations with individuals who want to see our great sport thrive in their local communities.

Andrew Goldstein, now a prominent cancer researcher at UCLA, made history as one of the first openly gay athletes in collegiate team sports. Even though Goldstein earned All-America honors that season, he still felt like he couldn’t play his best while keeping a big part of his life secret.
